Picked up a copy of Neil Gaiman’s “The Ocean at the End of the Lane” at Open Books in Chicago, and found someone’s valentine tucked inside. If anyone knows Pat D. please let them know Moonkles says, “I <3 You!”

Also, beyond excited to finally read the book. I ended up at Open Books after interviewing for a job nearby. It’s been a long summer, post-grad and unemployed for over 4 months. I picked up a copy of the book 1) because Open Books is a wonderful place that supports literacy programs across Chicago, and 2) no matter what came of the interview, I had something to look forward to. I was also able to find the perfect book to bring back my 11-year-old cousin, who has been struggling with reading. (She fell asleep with the book last night!)

Additionally, I ended up getting the job and will have more reasons to visit Open Books!
